Another attempt to make the world feel good! ^_^
This is possibly the greatest song ever! It's the inspiration behind the title for this blog, and totally makes me feel beautiful every time I watch it.
There. Big girls, don't you feel gorgeous now? Skinny girls, ain't you jealous! You wish you had these curves! *smacks her hips and blows a kiss!*
And now: THE LYRICS
Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) lyrics
Big girl you are beautiful
Walks in to the room
Feels like a big balloon
I said, 'Hey girls you are beautiful'
Diet coke and a pizza please
Diet coke I'm on my knees
Screaming 'Big girl you are beautiful'
You take your skinny girls
Feel like I'm gonna die
Cos a real woman
Needs a real man is why
You take your girl
And multiply her by four
Now a whole lotta woman
Needs a whole lot more
Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby
No need to fantasise
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Walks in to the room
Feels like a big balloon
I said, 'Hey girls you are beautiful'
Diet coke and a pizza please
Diet coke I'm on my knees
Screaming 'Big girl you are beautiful'
You take your girl
And multiply her by four
Now a whole lotta woman
Needs a whole lot more
Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby
No need to fantasise
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby
No need to fantasise
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Oh you are beautiful
Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby
No need to fantasise
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Oh you are beautiful
Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge
Find yourself a big lady
Big boy come on around
And they'll be calling you baby
No need to fantasise
Since I was in my braces
A watering hole
With the girls around
And curves in all the right places
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girls you are beautiful
Big girl you are beautiful
(Tee hee, they mention Diet Coke. I LOOOOVE Diet Coke!!" :D)

Being Big Blows - But I know it doesn't have to
Right off:
I am 5 feet and 1.75 inches (my mom rubs this in - she's 5'2)
I weigh 200 lbs, give or take (my weight fluctuates alot).
I am bottom-heavy - definitely Rubenesque.
My pant size is 18 (there are times where 16s fit, and times where 20s fit...).
My shirt size is XL-XXL in a normal store, but a 0 if you go by plus-sizes.
And I am in no way a fashion expert.
In fact, I just barely began exploring a world beyond nerdy boy T-shirts and ratty jeans two years ago. I used to wear boy flip-flops year-round, rarely brushed my hair, and always had it tied back the same way, and had no idea about anything having to do with make-up (okay, I still suck at that). Really, I'm what you would call a late bloomer. I should have done all this 10 years ago (I am almost 21).
But, though not a fashion expert, my trek into the fashion world has revealed two truths.
One: there ARE adorable, flattering, fashionable clothes out there for you, no matter what your size.
Two: plus-sized stores can STILL SUCK! XD
Even though fashion is on the rise for the bigger girl, there is still great leaps and bounds to take before fashion is flat-out open and accessible to us. There are things on the racks at stores like Torrid and Lane Bryant that still could only look good on a stick-thin figure, yet they're marketing it to us... It's taken a lot to weed through what will, and wont, work on someone shaped like me.
So, I've started a blog. A fashion blog! :O
Really, this is not a blog telling you what you should or should not wear as a big girl. This is a blog I've started more as a way for me to keep track of things I find and enjoy, personally, and maybe I can help other alternatively-sized girls on the interwebz to see how awesome fashion can be!! Let's see how long it lasts...
Also... I want clothes! ;__; Can haz purty clothes plz?!?! (Doesn't really help when you only have $12 in your checking acocunt XD I can't wait for payday... then... MOAR CLOTHES!!!) I figure if I can't go out and impulse buy an amazing outfit from B & Lu, I can at least gush about them on here, right? :P
So welcome, enjoy, and have fun reading through!
